Leah called me last week and asked if I can photograph her and Abe's "Holiday" photos. Little did she know that Abe asked Lindsey and me a couple weeks prior if we can help his friends and him out with his proposal to her. Long story short, we threw a surprise party for them last weekend, which called for photos. PERFECT! She was not only surprised about the proposal, but she was surprised about the party and seeing the photos on the slideshow! It was awesome!

Michelle and Bryan - They did!

The rain didn't cooperate, but Michelle and Bryan's wedding yesterday was still beautiful! We traveled to Bellevue for portraits, then to Seattle for the ceremony and back to Bellevue for the reception. Long day... but it was well worth it!

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Jin and her belly before her date comes. It's almost here! She originally inquired about some newborn pics, but we decided on maternity ones too. There'll be more where these came from in a couple of weeks. We'll just call these the "Before" photos :)

I photographed Miya a couple of years ago as a baby. It's great to see how well she's growing up! Congrats Jin! Can't wait until your second daughter graces us :)

Lisa and Nathan

Oh my, I've been on vacation for a week at the Oregon Coast (which was amazing!) and am already behind on a few album designs. Check out my Facebook page to view the photos :)

I wanted to share a preview slideshow of the wedding I photographed right before I left. Lisa and Nathan contacted me earlier this year to photograph their wedding and I MUST say that it was a challenge to coordinate our schedules as he was in the Air Force stationed in California and she was an English teacher in Japan.

There were only a few days that we were able to all meet in Seattle, but I'm sure glad we did! Their patience of being apart from each other for two years has paid off -- They'll be together again and are moving to Oregon, where Nathan has since been promoted to Captain and will be an ROTC instructor while Lisa will be finishing school.

Their wedding at the Manor in Everett was an opportunity for friends and family to celebrate their union. It was beautiful:

Jessica and Jude - Wedding Shower

Yesterday, we had Jessica and Jude's co-ed bridal shower and it was ALOT of fun! Lindsey, Janet and Norma are bridesmaid at their wedding next month and they hosted the party :)

Judy and Darren - They did!

Judy and Darren contacted me more than a year ago to photograph their wedding... With what felt like a blink of an eye, their big day was yesterday!

They spent ALOT of time planning and prep'ing and it ALL paid off.

First, we started off at Hotel Murano in Tacoma where the Judy and her girls got ready with Style by Serena Tiffany and Serena did an AMAZING job with hair and makeup.

From there, we headed over to Rock Creek Gardens in Puyallup for a wonderful outdoor ceremony and reception. Gracie not only invited us into their home but she and her team were welcoming hosts at the venue. It was my first time there, but certainly hope it wasn't my last!

Stephanie and her team from Events by Alejo pulled it all together. If you need a wedding planner, she's great!

Judy and Darren has such loving families and I felt it last night... These two are perfect for each other and soon enough, they'll live a "fruitful" life... like everyone requested of them yesterday!

Lisa and Nathan were alot of fun to work with. It was hard for them to NOT smile :) I'm photographing their wedding in Everett on August 22nd -- SO excited for it!

Before that though, we had the chance to spend a few hours shooting their engagement session at the University of Washington campus this weekend.

Judy and Darren - They Will on 8/8/09

It's been awhile since I've posted photos! After Mocha had two puppies, my photography focus was on them :) But, now that they've gone to new homes (homes in which they'll be the NUMBER ONE dogs), I'm able to re-focus on my current family and weddings... Great timing, as I have a couple weddings lined up in August.

With wedding photography comes engagement photos. I had TWO this weekend -- great way to get back into the swing of things, huh? ;)

First up is Judy and Darren. Lindsey and I shot their photos at Kubota Garden yesterday and it was alot of fun, but really HOT! Judy and I were encountering scheduling problems throughout the day, but in the end, we made it work.

Leia and Stephen

My sister, Leia, got hitched last week. Her and Stephen took it as an opportunity to confess their dying love and devotion to each other... I took it as a photo opp!

I set up a sort-of "photobooth" with white seemless paper and the studio lights (that I never have a chance to play with). It was a HIT!

Ponce Family Portraits

After months and months of planning (okay, maybe just a few weeks), Leila and I have finally hooked up to photograph her beautiful family, including her 8-month old addition handsome son, Simão. The latest neverending winter season has dictated when we were able to shoot, but this weekend's dry weather allowed us the opportunity -- and a fun one it was :)

Kim and Alex's Canvases

I just twitted about it... or is the correct term "tweeted"? Anywho, Kim and Alex's canvases came in yesterday! But, with all the excitement of the new puppies, I was only able to write about them today :)

These turned out amazingly!! I can't wait for their album to come in as well!

Kim and Alex - Album Design

It's live!!

Oh man, Lindsey and I had SOOO much fun photographing Kim and Alex while we were down in San Francisco a few weeks ago. Kim and Alex are now living happily ever after in Boston, but this album is sure to bring up the memories from the Bay -- it did for me, at least.

Kim and Alex - Engagement Session in San Francisco

Lindsey and I had the amazing opportunity to visit San Francisco this weekend to photograph the wedding of Kim and Alex. We had ALOT of fun working with them and they were more interested in the fun we were having on our trip than their special day!

You may remember Kim from Kristine and Jon's wedding in Hawaii. Kim was Kristine's Maid-of-Honor and we've been friends ever since... After this weekend, Lindsey and I have found a friend for life!

We photographed their engagement session on Friday all over the city. They showed us so much of the city's landmarks, like the the famous Golden Gate Bridge, the Palace Legion Honor and the Palace of Fine Arts, just to name a few. The highlights of the session were when Kim snatched the camera from my hands to take some pictures of Lindsey and me! So much fun :)

I woke up early this morning and had the urge to photograph our beautiful city... I didn't know that the clear blue sky would turn grey and dump the fluffy stuff a few hours later. Gotta love Seattle weather :)

Vilonza Holiday Photos

If you're from Seattle, then you know that the weather hasn't really cooperated lately, ESPECIALLY for family portraits. It's been COLD and the clouds do not want to go away. It's even supposed to snow this weekend -- AHHH!!

Then again, what are family portraits in Seattle without the gloomy weather, right? ;)

I had the opportunity to photograph the Vilonza family portraits on Sunday. Anthony and Pam are my close friends (and Lindsey's cousins). I'm also blessed to be Aliyah and Lailas godfather! They took some studio portraits the day before, but wanted to have some "relaxed" portraits as well for the holidays.

We drove around Seattle and waited for the rain to subside for a few minutes to grab some cool shots:

Kat and Rodney - They Did!

Phew! It's been a busy weekend! I had photography engagements ALL THREE days! My cameras went into overload :)

Yesterday was Kat and Rodney's wedding ceremony at St. Edward's Parish and reception Stimson-Green Mansion on First Hill.

It was a LOOOOONG day, but we had a lot of fun. Kathy and Rodney were so cool. I think everyone around them were more stressed than them :) But their wedding coordinator, and cousin Ginette, did a GREAT job! She did the work of five people and planned EVERY detail in the last two months -- normally, it takes at least a year to plan a wedding of this caliber. But she did it like a pro. I think her next venture will be to film a movie on how-to (and not-to) plan a wedding. Hahahaha!!

Anyway, originally Kat and Rodney were planning on having only a handful of close friends and family at a restaurant for their reception. But, as they normally do, the list kept growing and growing and eventually outgrew the restaurant's capacity. They chose a great mansion to host their guests! It was a great intimate venue for their guests to share in the joy of being married. And there was a lot of love to pass around. Check out some of the photos:

Stacy and Steve - They Did!

I purchased my very first camera from Steve at Kits Cameras and have been friends with him since. He's an amazing wedding and portrait photographer, so when he called to if I would photograph HIS wedding, I felt honored to do so. How could I say no? That was a HUGE compliment!! Needless to say, it was a lot of pressure as well :)

So, fast forward to today's mid-week wedding. Steve and his new wife, Stacy, were a blast to work with. They had an intimate ceremony at the Thornewood Castle (which is also a Bed and Breakfast) in Lakewood. They're flying out to take a cruise from Miami tomorrow, so I wanted to show them a preview of how beautiful their images turned out.

Here are some photos of Stacy and Steve during their e-session last week. They're getting married at the Thornewood Castle in Lakewood, with their reception at Emerald Downs in Auburn and I have the honor to be their photographer.

We were limited with light as this was a post-dusk photoshoot, but we made the most of it. Stacy and Steve are alot of fun to work with!

I'm STILL exhausted from Leah and Corey's wedding on Saturday... But, as you can see from the photos, it was well worth it!

Mr. and Mrs. Smith's bridal party was amazing!

They had their wedding at the Antheia Ballroom in Snohomish, WA and it was PERFECT. Their bridal party was amazing. We had so much fun.

If you're a client of mine or if you read my blog continuously, you'll know that my "style" is ever-changing. I like to try new things, shoot from different angles, etc. This day really was different -- It was fun using wireless off-camera flash. I pulled out all my tools and the photos turned out GREAT (see preview image above)!

Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the Wong family in Seattle. This was the morning after my long drive back home from Lincoln City, Oregon (see previous post). Needless to say I was still tired. But I LOVE shooting portraits :)

I met Jenny through Ronnie (from the Abad family). Jenny, James, Quinn and their dog Kula were fun to photograph! We started with a quick family portrait, then walked to the park and ferry dock and finished back at their home for some more "relaxed" photos. Here are a few images from their session:

I'm STILL tired from this weekend :) But Lindsey and I had a BLAST at Jennie and Casey's wedding. They had an intimate ceremony on the shores of Lincoln City, Oregon and it couldn't have been more perfect! Casey is a self-proclaimed minimalist and it really showed on Satruday. There were a total of about 14 immediate family members attending this special day.

The soft breeze complimented the hot sun and the miles and miles of view off the Pacific Ocean perfected the setting. It was absolutely beautiful! Jennie and Casey are currently on their honeymoon at the San Juan islands right now, so this slideshow will be somewhat of a welcome home surprise for them :)

By the way, it was both Jennie's and Casey informed us that it was both of their parents' wedding anniversaries that weekend, so it was somewhat of a triple celebration! Congratulations to all :)

Abad Family Portraits - 2008 :)

Phew, it's been a busy weekend! With my best friend getting married this past Friday (08/08/08) -- see previous post -- and a family portrait shoot, it was hard to find time to enjoy the weekeend. It's okay, I LOVE shooting portraits!!

I photographed Allen's side of the family last year (you'll remember I blog'd about it on this post: http://asencilimaging.blogspot.com/2007/07/abad-family-portraits.html) And since Ronnie's family was in town for her sister's wedding this past weekend, I photographed her side too :)

Congratulations to Maurniece and Japhet

My best friend Japhet married his soul mate in Maurniece last night. It was an 08/08/08 wedding, so destiny has them living a prosperous life :)

Japhet and his brother, Jude, have been my oldest friends... Thanks to their beautiful cousin, Lindsey, I'm pretty much family now, too :)

Because we all lead our own lives, we don't hang out as much as we'd like, but we all know that we'll be there for each other until the end. If there's anyone out there tat deserves to be happy the most, it's Japhet. He's very loyal to his family and friends. And now he has Maurniece to accompany him in this wild thing we call life -- Oh yeah, and they have a little one on the way :)

They had an intimate soiree on the MV Kirkland of the Argosy Cruises. It was perfect!

...NEXT WEEK!! Lindsey and I photographed their engagement session on Saturday. We had a blast :) btw, Vanessa and Lindsey were former co-workers at their day job...

Vanessa and Ram can't seem to stop laughing and smiling... We're going to have alot of fun shooting their wedding next week. It's going to be at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, and that's where we shot their e-session.

It's a beautiful venue!! This is my first photography sessions out at Point Defiance Park, but it's definitely NOT my last.

Kristine and Jon's Wedding Album is here!

...And it's HUGE!!

Lindsey and I photographed Kristine and Jon's wedding in Honolulu in April. Lindsey loved Hawaii so much that she's already planning our next trip out there next year -- if you or anyone you know is getting married in Hawaii and needs a photographer, contact me soon as I'm already booking for 2009 :) :)

Anyway, here are a few images of the finished product:

The painted doves were amazing! AND, the bird guy trains them all to fly back home after they're let out during the ceremony.

Denise and Eric in Las Vegas!

Oh my! What a weekend! If I've spoken to you in the last couple of days, I apologize for not being able to understand a word out of my mouth. My voice STILL hasn't recovered from my trip. So, with throat lozenges and all, I'm writing this...

I first met Denise at Rachel and Jaime's wedding in San Jose, CA last July. Denise emailed me to inquire my photography services shortly after I returned home and we've been friends ever since. I love this couple!!!

Photographing Denise and Eric's wedding in Las Vegas on Sunday was well worth the exhaustion :) Their wedding party was a great group and kept me on my toes the whole weekend. To date, I'd say that they had the MOST energy out of all the bridal parties I've photographed -- I KNOW that's alot of pressure for my future clients ;) -- I STILL haven't received a straight answer about the bachelor/bachelorette parties, but I'm sure photos of each event will show up on MySpace sooner or later LOL! It's okay, it's like what they say, "What happens in Vegas..." you know the rest, right Anthony? ;)

Aloha!

Lindsey and I are still having Hawaii withdrawals, and it's already been a couple weeks since we've been back! This is the exact reason I love first-handedly build my own albums for my customers. Alot of photographers outsource the albums to other designers, completely disconnecting themselves from this aspect of their "services". I not only have the opportunity to ensure that every album is one-of-a-kind, but I also get to re-live my experience shooting their special day.

I thoroughly enjoyed building Kristine and Jon's album for these exact reasons. Lindsey and I had a blast on the island and would LOVE to fly back :) Especially to photograph a wedding as beautiful as Kristine and Jon's ;)

Baby Miya - Preview Slideshow

I had the opportunity this weekend to photograph 2-month old Miya and her family this past weekend. They were ALL very hospitible and welcomed me into their home. Oh, and they're danishes were GOOOOOOOOOD!!

I met Miya's mother, Jin, at Rose and Dennis' Wedding.

She was one of the bridesmaids and after seeing the album that we designed for Rose, she said that she HAD to contact me to photograph her newborn daughter :)

Jin's going to back to work next week, so I told her that I'd have some photos up for her to share with everyone...

Kristine and Jon Got Hitched in Hawaii!!!

I just got in from an up-and-down adventure (to say the least) from Hawaii. Lindsey and I just got back into Seattle and I've got a story to tell (including a last-minute flight cancellation and lost luggage... TWICE!!!) Lindsey and I are both still jet-lagged, but it was a wonderful opportunity to shoot Kristine and Jon's wedding on Saturday.

They had a beautiful wedding at the Waikiki Beach Marriott (www.marriottwaikiki.com). The bridal party was such a fun group and the views were AMAZING!!! Both families welcomed us to their gathering with open arms! Thank you to the Raquel and Ternate families and friends for your hospitality.

The pigeon handler trains these birds to fly back to his home on the island. Cool huh?

WOW!!! What a year!!

My weddings went through the month of November... Usually by then, the wedding season slows down. Not for me though :)

I photographed Michelle and Bryan's wedding at the end of November and have been working vigorously through end-of-year duties (like Christmas shopping, LOL) to get their album design to them.

Gerry and Ellen's Wedding Album

I just delivered Gerry and Ellen's album to them last night and they were in AWWW!!

Firstly, because it was ordered a few weeks ago and it was already here (just in time for the holidays).

They loved it. The photos alone of these albums don't do any justice at all. These are BEAUTIFUL!!! Just ask them :)

Here are a few images I snapped before delivery. They ordered the biggest size!!!

Congratulations Michelle and Bryan!

My last wedding of the year… So far! I say, "so far" because I prepared for Michelle and Bryan's wedding in less than a week! I received a call from Minda (Michelle's mom) last Wednesday. So while most of you were getting amped up and traveling for Thanksgiving, I was over at their house ironing out all the details of her daughter and future son-in-law's wedding. Then on Sunday, I shot it!

I'm glad I did… Michelle was a beautiful bride and had a lot of wonderful friends surrounding her on her day. I was blessed to have captured this day for them.

They had their ceremony and reception at the Spirit of Washington Events Center. It was amazing how fast the staff flipped from ceremony to reception in a manner of minutes.
I've previewed their images and they're turning really well. Here's a few snapshot of their images:

Ellen and Gerry's Album Design

Ellen and Gerry were married in June 2006 in beautiful Hawaii. I wanted to air it out there that I was NOT their wedding photographer, but after receiving the raw files from them, I designed an album for them. A lot of potential clients don't know, but photography is only one-third of my business. Another one-third of my business is building albums. The last one-third of my business are the relationships I build with my brides and grooms :)

Putheavy and Rey's Album is Here!

My album company never fails me!

Putheavy contacted me about 2 weeks ago and wanted to streamline the production of her WEDDING album (you can see more from their wedding day HERE . She inquired about receiving her album back before the the holidays (namely Christmas) and at that time I hadn't even recevied her approval to send the files through. I NEVER send the files through without my brides proofing, revising and approving them. I want my pre-designed albums to be PERFECT!

So, I did the math using six weeks as the constant variable and that would have brought us all the way up until about mid-December, JUST before the holiday. I let Putheavy know and she agreed that that date would be "okay". She approved the spreads and I sent them off that day to avoid any delays.

Fast forward to yesterday (the day BEFORE Thanksgiving), I come home and there's her album in a carefully-packed boxed on my doorstep. "NO WAY"!! It's here FOUR weeks ahead of schedule!

Oh my! I just about soiled my shorts I was so happy! :)

My hat's off to Kevin and the Kiss Wedding Book crew.

And, the book is amazing. We decided on the RED Italian Leather cover (choice of blue, green, black, tan and brown -- They're ALL beautiful!)

I had the opportunity to photograph LINDSEY'S "ba'ing's" (grandmother) 90th birthday last Saturday. It was a wonderful experience and an honor to capture!

Rachel and Jaime's Wedding Album is here!

This is one of my favorite album designs and one reason is that Rachel didn't want to change ANYTHING on the first go around! NO REVISIONS… YEAH!!!

I run a small studio, so I solely build all of my brides' albums from scratch and it's a HUGE compliment when a bride comes back and tells me it's PERFECT as-is. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE building these and refuse to send an album off to the printers without my customers' approval. I'm a perfectionist and regardless if I have to revise it once or 100 times, I want to make sure it's perfect! I always offer up to three free revision sessions on my contracts.

Anyway, another reason this is one of my favorites is because this was my very first out-of-town weddings (it helps that the bride and groom were beautiful, too). And next year I have THREE!!

Rachel and Jaime are in town this weekend, so I'll be able to present them with their book, but I wanted to give YOU a sneak peak of some of the snapshots I took earlier in the week:

Putheavy and Rey - Album Design

Here's what everyone's been waiting for! Putheavy and Rey's wedding album design is finally here.

The wedding season is winding down now, and theirs was a great way for 2007 to go out with a bang. It was a 16+ plus hour day for me, but with the images captured, it was well worth it! Thank you to everyone attending their wedding and, later, contacting me with their kind words. I LOVE sharing my work and these kind words are very inspiring and encouraging for me. I LOVE what I do :)

There were SOOOOOOOOO many great images, I didn't know where to stop designing LOL!! If I didn't stop, I'd STILL be designing it :) This album has a potential to be HUGE!

I MUST say that Putheavy and Rey chose a great group of friends and family members for their bridal party. So much fun! And I'm sure I portrayed that in the album ;)

Rose and Dennis - The album is HERE

Rose and Dennis's album is here and I've finally found an album-printing company that I'm happy with! Thank you Kiss Wedding Books!

Their turnaround time is FAST! They even upgraded my order to next-day air at no additional charge. The book is HUGE and with all of the shipping materials in the box, it's evident that they care about their customers and their albums. It came with a sleek black gift box AND colorful slip cover… None of my past albums have EVER come with a slip cover!

The images are printed directly onto the pages and the designs (by yours truly) spread across through both pages, so there's no worrying about cutting off any details in the gutter.
Rose and Dennis will not be disappointed…

Putheavy and Rey did it!

Oh my... Another 16-hour day... I'm STILL exhausted :) But it was well-worth shooting Putheavy and Rey's wedding!

This was my very first traditional tea party. The couple prep'd me for a few months that this was going to be a little crazier than normal. When you have 150+ people in one house, it can be a little unbearable for some, but I was loving it!!! Two HUGE families becoming one… it's beautiful!

I arrived at Putheavy's house at about 7:30am and her family was already at full force. Now that's love! Apparently they were up at about 5am… Insane!!! The whole setup was amazing. The food and fruits were prepped, the bridesmaids were doing their hair and Putheavy was already stunning! Oh yeah, Rey and his family were about 30 miles away and up at about 5am also, anticipating the ceremony and arrival at Putheavy's too!

The groom and his entourage arrived at around 9am in the stretch Cadillac Limousine and that's when the festivities began. Rey was greeted by Putheavy's family and from their the couple presented each family member a cup of tea as a form of respect and acceptance and in turn the family members presented them a little red envelope. I wonder what was in there ;)

After a couple hours of greeting and drinking and red-envelop'ing, their limo driver, Amy, meandered us through the Seattle Bumbershoot traffic and we shot their portraits at multiple locations, including the University of Washington Campus, Space Needle, Kerry Park Viewpoint and the Seattle Art Museum's Olympic Sculpture Park. Amy was a trooper!

The reception followed at China Harbor on Lake Union and THAT'S when the party began! The bridal party jumped on the Thriller Craze and performed a snippet of the Michael Jackson routine to their audience. Coupled with the Electric Slide and their "Humps", it is the most-entertaining bridal party introduction I've seen to date! It was great!

Next thing you know, hundreds of tired dancing feet, about fifty toasts and three dress-changes later, the day was over.

Thanks to the couple for allowing me to shoot their wedding! Again congratulations and best of luck to your future… (oh what the heck, I'll jump on the bandwagon with everyone else) make a lot of kids and add to your huge families!!!

Whitney and Jon's Album Design

Whoa, it's been a wild summer with a lot of weddings :)

I've just finished Whitney and Jon's wedding album. They had a beautiful, intimate wedding on July 28th in Ballard. This is the second wedding I've shot at Sunset Hill Park and it was a wonderful sunny day for the second time. Great venue for a wedding!

Christine and Ryan's album is here!

Well, it WAS... I delivered it to Christine on Saturday.

Christine and Ryan's one-year anniversary was yesterday, so Christine wanted to surprise Ryan with a beautiful album.

I've been working on this project for a month or so, but I couldn’t share any updates about it because Ryan frequently visits my blog -- you should too ;)

Christine and Ryan are really good friends of Dara and Ronnie. Do you remember them? I photographed their wedding on July 1st. Here's a rough draft of their album: www.asencilimaging.com/daraandronnie/albumdesign.

By the way, Ryan is a close relative to the late Lito Barber. Lito was the Seattle Police Officer who's life and career was cut short by a reckless driver last August. I know this has been a hard year for the Barber family. They've created an online memorial to honor their FALLEN OFFICER (www.odmp.org/officer.php?oid=18435)

Rachel and Jaime's Album Design

Here it is. Finally! This wedding season has been a bear, but I'm loving it! I've already shot a handful of them and they were all beautiful! Rachel and Jaime's wedding was already a month ago, but building their album helped me relive their day with them. It was in Sunny California and I can't wait to go back!

By the way, Rachel's a bridesmaid in a wedding in VEGAS next summer -- Guess who's the photog ;)

Charmaine and Mark

CHARMAINE has been a family friend of Lindsey's for the LONGEST! Her and Mark tied the knot last August in Vegas (they live there now) and have since been blessed with the news that they will be having a baby on December 25th (that's right, Christmas day!)

So, when they said they were coming into town, I HAD to shoot their early maternity photos. Charmaine's also having a baby shower in October and wanted invitations custom-designed by LINDSEY, so these photos will be used for that.

Whitney and Jon

I met Whitney and Jon a few months ago to discuss their wedding and I KNEW I would love shooting this couple! They had such a positive energy and knew exactly what they wanted from a companion.

Moses, Lindsey and I had a lot of fun with Whitney and Jon on their special day. They cracked us up!!!

They had a beautiful ceremony at Sunset Hill Park in Ballard, with a reception at the Nordic Heritage Museum.

Abad Family Portraits

The Abads are such a loving family!

Ronnie called me last week to schedule a last-minute family portrait session with her in-laws and children at her brother-in-law's beautiful home.

Here's a quick collage from their session:

She said that there was no special occasion, just that, with all the new additions to the family, they haven't had an updated portrait.

She said her mother-in-law is a huge fan of framed canvas art. I thought, "Perfect timing!" I've JUST added the ability to add canvases to my E-STORE (http://www.blogger.com/www.asencilimaging.instaproofs.com)

Mostly all of the images are STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CAMERA and haven't been run through any post-processing scripts. Once you choose images for print, I process, edit and color-correct them INDIVIDUALLY so the final products come out beautifully.

Andrew's Album is Here!

I JUST got in from California today and I am processing RACHEL'S beautiful images as we speak, but I just wanted to take a quick break. If you want to view the preview, I'll have them up shortly :) Check back soon!

Here's an entry I wanted to write before I left for California, but I didn't have any images to post with it.

So.........

Andrew's album was delivered literally as I was on my way out the door and down to California last Tuesday, so I didn't even have time to open it up and take a peek! I did today and it's AMAZING!

This is the coffee table album I offer in my bridal packages. This particular one was for Andrew's baptism I photographed a few months ago (you can read more about it by clicking HERE). I predesign ALL of my clients' albums and present them in digital form online BEFORE I send them out to the printers. Once the clients have proofed, revised and authorized their album, then I send them out.

My brides LOVE these albums. I use them because they don't restrict my designs in any way. I can design whole spreads (left and right pages combined) without having to worry if any piece of the images will cut off (like your eyes, nose and face).

Also, these pages are hardbound and will not bend, ensuring it will last a lifetime.

Rachel and Jaime's Wedding in California!!

I just shot a wedding in sunny California, and it was a beautiful destination! Hank and Debbie are the Mother and Step-Father of the bride Rachel. Rachel hired me almost three years ago to shoot her wedding on 7/7/07... I was just starting out in the wedding photography business and she had alot of confidence in me. I REFUSED to let her and her new husband, Jaime, down. I had alot of fun shooting this wedding.

I MUST be lucky because this is the second wedding in two weeks that was SO MUCH FUN! Last week, Dara and Ronnie performed a two-hour long medley at theirs, and this week Rachel and Jaime's DJ, Matt from WILD 94.9 FM spun hit after hit! EVERYONE was on the dancefloor!!!

Congratulations Rachel and Jamie! You two make a beautiful bride and groom!!!

I'm exhausted now after the 16-hour shoot. But, you know what? It was well worth it!

I'm currently working on a preview slideshow now and should have it up by the time I get back to Seattle, but right now I have to help the bride and groom bring in their truckload of gifts!

Dara and Ronnie's Wedding

Dara and Ronnie... wore... me... OUT!! :)

I mean it when I say that I had the GREAT OPPORTUNITY to shoot their wedding last night at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Tukwila. They had a BEAUTIFUL and intimate engagement that I will not forget. I don't mean to place any pressure on my future brides, butI think this is one of my most favorite weddings I've shot to date. Everything about it went perfectly. As a matter of fact, I think both Dara and Ronnie were the calmest people there... AND IT WAS THEIR WEDDING!

Here's a little background:

I used to work with Ronnie at the Guitar Center in Tukwila. I was in operations and he was a sales rep in the keyboard/pro audio department. I KNEW he was talented because everytime a customer came in to look at some equipment, they'd ask for him. He'd "demo" the equipment with his own music, making it that much more appealing for customers to buy the gear and follow their dream in making music. Well, since, I've moved from GC to photography.

Fast forward to last August, I assisted in shooting video for Christine and Ryan's wedding (if you follow my blog, and you should, you'll remember Christine and Ryan from this POST). Ronnie greeted me at the front door of the church. Turns out he was a close friend of theirs! Dara was even Christine's Maid of Honor!! They both performed at their wedding...

So, Ronnie contacted me about a month ago and asked me to shoot HIS wedding. I felt honored!

These two are amazing performers. They're in a group called Groove Edition. Dara also has myspace account (Ronnie was a primary producer - check out the myspace) and her own website. They are AMAZING!

Aside from the funny slideshow, unforgettal first dance and delicious cupcake tree, the best part of the reception was athe non-stop medley!! And they performed the WHOLE time. They got everyone up and dancing NON-STOP. It was great!

I love my job!!!

Kristine and Jon Engagement Photos

A wedding in Hawaii?!!!! Yes! I'll shoot it :)

That's kind of how my meeting with Kristine went a few months ago, shortly after Jon had proposed to her…

They are an amazing couple with a lot of love for each other. A great inspiration for all couples out there.

MOSES and I had the opportunity Sunday to shoot Kristine and Jon's engagement photos. Even though, they're getting married next April, they wanted to shoot these photos early so they look "different" the day-of. They're hilarious!

Kristine's a fan (more like a self-proclaimed "stalker" LOL) of my website and visits my blog on a weekly basis. Can you blame her??? :)
With this in mind, I HAD to bring my A-game to the processing table. As a photographer, I strive to shoot, process and post images of my brides and brides-to-be within one week (usually within a few days). This one was no exception. Kristine said that she expected these photos to be online for her and Jon's viewing pleasure. And now they are!

It was Aldrin’s sixth birthday last weekend. He had it at Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center. All of the kids had a blast, including Lindsey LOL!!!

It was SO hot! After riding the go-karts, the bumper boats were quite refreshing :)

They say they’re pretty much done with all the planning and details and stuff. Now they’re just waiting for the big day! Personally, I can’t wait for their reception at CHINA HARBOR!

We had so much fun on Saturday at Kabota Garden, Alki Beach and Hamilton Viewpoint . We spent almost SIX hours shooting.

Whitney and Jon's Engagement session

We FINALLY shot Whitney and Jon's engagement photo session this weekend. Prior to this shoot, we had canceled 3 times for one reason or another. It was well worth the wait :)

We're shooting their wedding in less than two months! I can't believe it's coming up around the corner.

These two are amazing individuals with alot of love for each other. They say they don't have ANY photos of them together, so this was a special shoot for them. They were very cooperative and were open to everything we had in mind -- very easy to work with. And, they're hilarious!!! We had a lot of fun doing it.

Aaron Michael Portraits

As promised, here are a few images from the photoshoot I had yesterday with Aaron Michael. He's an up and coming singer I've known now for a couple years. He's been through alot of trials and tribulations in his life that he's quite inspiring in the ways he lets it out on his songs... He recorded the first few tracks of his demo album a few weeks ago and if you follow my blog, you may remember that I had the unique opp to shoot at the studio too (read the story by clicking HERE).

He's a busy individual these days, mostly with producing, writing and composing songs. His demo's due out to radio stations and record labels in the near future. He says he's been waiting for "professional" photos to get his material out there... Now, it's just a matter of time until you hear his voice broadcast out of your speakers.

Lupus Walk 2007

It was rainy and windy out yesterday, but there were a more than 250 of us up to the challenge! From what the announcers were saying, this was the first time the Alliance for Lupus Research has ever been to Seattle. More than 30 walking teams signed up for monetary sponsors and on the day of we walked 5K (or 3.1 miles) down beautiful Alki Beach.

We had more than 30 walkers on our team, led by team leader and head uniform designer, Honex Escarez. Team DHO was in full effect! My brother, DEREK, even received a gift certificate to Salty’s on Alki (www.saltys.com) because our team won “Best Uniform”.

The folks from Star 101.5 fm were there to pump us up with the music! There were also complimentary refreshments and 10-minute massages for the hard core walkers…

Lupus is a terrible disease that has hit home to my family and me. But yesterday, we were able to raise money and walk for the research and cure of it.

According to http://www.lupusresearch.org not a lot of folks know about Lupus epidemic, but more than 1 million people in the United States alone have it, 9 out of 10 of them being women and being Asian or African. According to the website, there are multiple forms of Lupus, but all of them are autoimmune (or over-active immune) deficiencies effecting, the lungs, heart, kidneys, skin and brain, pretty much making those with Lupus feel miserable and out of commission from their everyday lives for long periods of time. In essence, the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks and breaks down the tissues and organs, disabling them to function normally. Though most of the time, it’s controlled and bearable, there are the burdening times when inflammation flares up, leading to (among other symptoms) fever, skin rash and extreme fatigue.

Jasmine's First Birthday

Jasmine celebrated her 1st birthday this weekend and it was a blast. She had a Hello Kitty theme and everyone was dressed in pink! I should’ve worn my pink “I’m too cool for this shirt” shirt I bought on clearance for $3!!! But it slipped my mind :)
